The Flamingo Barbie Doll is a 1998 Mattel production, and from the Birds of Beauty Collection. Model #22957. This is a Barbie Collectibles doll suggested for Ages 14+ Years. Flamingo Barbie doll is approx. 11.5" tall & she has dark hair and blue eyes. Flamingo Barbie wears a spectacular gown inspired by her Flamingo Dreams. The gown is various shades of pink with darker pink fabric cross-over style low cut front w/clear elastic shoulder straps. There are beads & faux jewels adorning the bodice. At the left waist side, there are strands of pink beads dangling and there's white, pink and black feathers on both sides that add exotic beauty to this gown. The sparkling accents of her gown, and the dangling bead earrings that are white, pink & black beads, as well as her pink faux "jeweled" bracelet and the fabulous headdress, which is black w/faux jewels on the front with pinks, white & black feathers adorning this headdress, all helps to create a dazzling effect that surely must mesmerize the Flamingos in their Barbie Dreams! This Flamingo Barbie was inspired by Barbie's magical Flamingo Dream. With Barbie's spectacular gown and headdress lavished with downy soft feathers, this recaptures the grace & exotic beauty of her Flamingo Dream. Despite packaging that implies some kind of tropical beach setting, the Flamingo Barbie, second in the Birds of Beauty Collection, is actually a glamorous doll that looks like something right out of Hello, Dolly! The elegant doll, whose head tilts, features black high-heeled pumps; real pink, white, and black feathers in her hair and around her center; and black lacquered hair set in an updo. Her dress features a beaded bodice with hot-pink and light-pink satin. Long black gloves--complete with a rhinestone bracelet on the left wrist--cover her elegant arms and hands. Flamingo Barbie's face resembles that of the Audrey Hepburn Barbie doll. Not a terribly versatile Barbie doll (especially if you want her to resemble her original self), but a very pretty collectible. --Nadine Mendoza-Province
